(CNN) — Authorities in Oklahoma arrested an Arizona man. He’s accused of hiding marijuana under a baby in his vehicle.

The marijuana, weighing about half a pound was hidden in a car seat. A five-month-old baby was apparently supposed to hide it.

“It’s pretty gut-wrenching whenever you see children involved in such heinous crimes,” Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics Senior Agent Mike Arnold said.

Arnold made the discovery. He says he pulled Andrew Charles Wyatt Jr. over for speeding on I-40 through Canadian County — and that’s when he smelled the pot.

Arnold says everyone in the car tried to deny there was marijuana in the car, but Arnold and his K9 “Scout” have been doing this so long, they knew they couldn’t even overlook a child.

“Whenever you pull over a car that has children in it, you just hope there’s nothing in that car. And then when you do come across it you go through a roller-coaster of emotions,” Arnold said.

Wyatt was arrested, and the child’s mother retained custody of the baby.
