MILWAUKEE (WITI) — We Energies is buying up land in the Menomonee Valley.

The power company bought over nine acres next to its Valley Power Plant on West Canal Street.

According to a deed transfer filed with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, the sale price was $1.35 million.

A We Energies spokesman says they do not have plans to expand the plant, but he says they saw an opportunity to expand the perimeter around the plant, and they were able to do so.
