CITED: 42-year-old South Milwaukee man suffers minor injuries after semi rollover in Kenosha

KENOSHA (WITI) -- Kenosha County Sheriff's officials say a semi driver was cited and injured in a rollover crash on 120th Avenue (East Frontage for I-94) on Thursday afternoon, February 19th.

It happened shortly before 5:00 p.m. in the northbound lanes of 120th Avenue.

Sheriff's officials say at the time of the crash, the semi was headed westbound on State Highway 50, attempting to turn north onto 120th Avenue to enter I-94 NB. The semi was unable to negotiate the turn onto northbound 120th Avenue and overturned.

The semi's driver was the sole occupant. That driver, identified as 42-year-old Nicholaus Bellanti of South Milwaukee was cited for operating with a speed too fast for the conditions. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The semi had a 40-foot-long dumpster-type container, and it was hauling approximately 20,000 pounds of scrap scaffolding for Cimco Recycling Company in Milwaukee.

No other vehicles were involved in this crash.

120th Avenue north of State Highway 50 was closed for appoximately six hours.

Neither alcohol nor weather conditions appear to be factors in this crash.
