Sheboygan man accused of making bomb threat, allegedly wrote note in question

Keith Slade

SHEBOYGAN (WITI) -- 43-year-old Keith Slade has been charged with a felony count of bomb scare for an alleged incident at a company in Sheboygan.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were dispatched to Nemek Corporation around 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18th in reference to a bomb threat. When the officers arrived on the scene, the human resources person indicated that Slade "found a note in the men's locker room. The note was a small sheet of paper folded up and stated 'to day i bring boom in lunch box maybe go off at five kill many.'"

Because of the note, the complaint indicates Nemek shut down operations and did a bomb sweep through the factory.

When officers interviewed Slade, the complaint says "he just happened to go into the handicapped stall of the bathroom and found this note." When officers searched Slade's locker, they found "pieces of paper in the same dimensions and types as the note was written on." Officers also obtained samples of Slade's writing which, according to the complaint, "seemed to match the writings on the note." The complaint also says Slade "thought the administration would simply close down the locker room and a bathroom area and do a quick search."

Officers asked Slade "if he did this because of a prank and he stated he does not know why the person did this."

If Slade is convicted, he faces up to three-and-a-half years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
