Vehicle hits power pole in Town of Vernon, causes power outage

TOWN OF VERNON (WITI) — The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department responded for a report of a single- vehicle crash in the Town of Vernon early Friday morning, February 20th.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. on Oakdale Drive between Hillview Drive and Mount Whitney Avenue.

According to officials, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a power pole.  As a result the power pole was downed and the power lines disconnected.   It is estimated that 100+ homes were experiencing power outages as a result of this incident.  We Energies estimates the situation to be resolved by mid-morning hours.

The Waukesha Sheriff’s Department currently has a full road closure on Oakdale Drive between Hillview Drive and Mount Whitney Avenue until the lines are restored.
