Girl Scouts make it easy to get your cookie fix with drive-thrus and booth sales

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Area Girl Scouts are making it easy for you to get your hands on some Thin Mints and Peanut Butter Patty's! Saturday, February 28th, the Girl Scouts hosted some cookie drive-thrus.

This weekend is National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend, which is a national holiday for Girl Scout cookie fans. This weekend also marks the start of Girl Scout cookie booth sales at grocery stores and businesses in southeast Wisconsin.

Today, Girl Scouts took orders from people and delivered them right to their cars on South 69th St. in Milwaukee.

There were also drive-thrus in Menomonee Falls and Kenosha.

Scout leaders say the annual cookie sale is so much more than just the cookies.

"If they're shy it helps to take them out of their shyness, making them interact with people and go up to them and ask them if they'd like to buy cookies and kind of helps them with their education -- with their math skills," said Girl Scouts Volunteer Leader, Kimberly Seeber.

They say the highest amount one person bought today was 24 boxes!

If you missed Saturday's drive-thrus, the Girl Scouts will still be selling at cookies booths.
