Bank deposit slip dropped at scene of the crime leads authorities to accused burglar

Paul Robinson

SHEBOYGAN (WITI) -- A bank deposit slip dropped at the scene of a home burglary led Sheboygan authorities to 39-year-old Paul Robinson. Robinson is now charged with one count of concealing stolen property.

According to the criminal complaint, authorities were called to a trailer on County Road U in the Town of Lyndon on February 23rd. The owner of the trailer told officers "someone had broken into his house trailer and taken a number of items." That included a TV, a camera, a fanny pack, some pill bottles, a bottle of Crown Royal and numerous other items.

During the investigation, a Sheboygan County Sheriff's Deputy noticed a receipt from a bank at the steps of the house trailer. The deputy reached out to the bank -- and learned the receipt belonged to Robinson.

Authorities later executed a search warrant at the home of Robinson. Officials found a number of the items taken from the house trailer in Robinson's garage -- including the prescription pill bottles and Crown Royal liquor.

If convicted, Robinson faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines.
