Stalberg hat trick lifts Admirals past Griffins

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Viktor Stalberg scored the game’s final two goals in a span of 15.4 seconds and recorded his second hat trick of the season to stun the Griffins and lift the Ads to a 3-2 overtime victory Friday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

The Ads struck first to take a 1-0 lead at 4:02 in the first period when Viktor Arvidsson and Stalberg got past the Grand Rapids defense. Arvidsson made a fantastic pass from the red dot to Stalberg who positioned himself in front of the goal and fired a shot passed Petr Mrazek.

The Griffins tied the game with 1:20 remaining in the second period when the Ads turned the puck over and Tomas Nosek dished the puck to Kevin Porter and he got one by Marek Mazanec for his 10th goal of the season.
That goal ended 126:21 of consecutive shutout minutes for Mazanec, dating back to February 27th.
Grand Rapids pulled ahead at 6:42 in the third period when Xavier Teemu Pulkinen redirected a Xavier Ouellett shot from the point for his 34th of the season for a 2-1 lead.

The Ads tied the game to send it into overtime when Kevin Fiala fired a pass from the near corner somehow found its way to the front of the crease where Stalberg was in perfect position right in front of the net for his second goal of the game with just .4 seconds left in the contest.

It took only 15 seconds into overtime for the Ads to put the game in the bag. Joe Piskula flipped a pass that bounced off the left board to Stalberg, who took the puck hard to the net and chipped it over the left pad of Mrazek for his third goal of the night and the game winner.

This was Stalberg's second hat trick of the season in just 20 games with Milwaukee
