Police: Abduction reported near 47th & Fiebrantz baseless; no charges to be filed

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Investigators from the Milwaukee Police Department have determined that the abduction reported March 5 near N. 47th Street and W. Fiebrantz Avenue is baseless and no charges will be filed.

According to authorities,  a caller told police on March 5th that a 22-year-old Milwaukee woman and her 18-month-old daughter were taken against their will by a 22-year-old Milwaukee man, who was identified as the child’s father.

Working with relatives of the woman, Milwaukee police were able to determine the victims were being driven to Indianapolis, Indiana. Police in Indianapolis located the victims in a hotel shortly before 11:30 p.m. and took the suspect into custody. The mother and child were unharmed.

On Monday, March 9th, police announced that the reported abduction was baseless and that no charges will be filed.
