Police seek suspect who drove up in one stolen car, drove away in another

MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- Mount Pleasant police are looking to the public for help in identifying a man wanted for stealing a vehicle after shoplifting.

Officials say the suspect stopped at the Kwik Trip gas station on Frontage Rd. in Mount Pleasant just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10th. Investigators say the suspect arrived in a stolen car (white Honda Civic reportedly from Illinois), entered the gas station, stole a hamburger and returned to the parking lot before stealing another car (white Honda Accord). That second car was unlocked, running and nobody was inside of it.

Officers dispatched to the Kwik Trip searched for the suspect vehicle, however it was not located. It's believed the suspect drove the stolen vehicle onto I-94.

The suspect in this case is described as a male, white or Hispanic, approximately 6 ft. tall and weighing approximately 200 lbs. He was wearing a stocking hat, had a beard, and was wearing several layers of clothing.
