Villanova ends Marquette’s season 84-49

NEW YORK (AP) — Big East Sixth Man of the Year Josh Hart scored 20 points off the bench, and fourth-ranked Villanova ensured it would stick around at the Big East Tournament a bit longer this time with an 84-49 rout of Marquette in the quarterfinals Thursday. The Wildcats lost in the quarters on a last-second shot as the No. 1 seed to Seton Hall last year.

The 3rd ranked team in the country tied a tournament record by sinking seventeen three-point shots.   Derrick Wilson led coach Steve  Wojciechowski’s’s Golden Eagles with 11 points and 9 assist in his final game; but he committed 9 turnovers.

MU finishes the season at 13-19.

    Thanks for a great season MU. Perhaps next year the team can achieve a .500 record? Looks like Coach Wojciechowski really has this team heading in the right direction (not). Fire him now!!!
