"He has stolen everybody's heart:" Hank's Hangout, Holey Moley doughnuts big hits on Opening Day!

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The start to a brand new Milwaukee Brewers season means new offerings at Miller Park! That includes new security procedures, new food items and a special space dedicated to the Brewers unofficial mascot, Hank the Ballpark Pup!

There were some long lines as Brewers fans waited to get into Miller Park on Opening Day. The Brewers faced the Colorado Rockies Monday, April 6th. This year, each and every fan had to go through a metal detector to enter the stadium. It's a process the Brewers tried out last season -- and are now utilizing at every game.

"I think it's a good thing. We can't be too safe," Brewers fan Jason Zimmer said.

Zimmer took part in his very first Opening Day on Monday. After tailgating in the parking lot, he lined up to enter Miller Park along with thousands of others. Each fan had to walk through a metal detector or be screened with a hand wand.

"Very smooth. Excellent. Quick. No problems," Zimmer said.

The new security procedures are mandated by Major League Baseball.

"I think it's okay if it keeps everybody safe," Brewers fan Jeff Heerhold said.

Once inside the ballpark, fans were greeted by a very adorable face! Brewers unofficial mascot Hank the Ballpark Pup!

"He likes Hank and it's his first Brewers game, so we got to get a picture with Hank!" Holly Hamblin said.

Hank is a fan favorite. Hank was rescued by the Brewers when he wandered into their Spring Training facility in Arizona before the start of last season. He's so popular, he now has his very own "Hank Hangout" inside Miller Park.

"He has stolen everybody's heart, and Bernie better watch out!" Brewers Senior Director of Merchandise Branding Jill Arnoff said.

"We have two small dogs like Hank, and my granddaughter loves him," Sue Cochran said.

Inside Hank's Hangout, fans can find triple the Hank merchandise than what was offered last season.

"I like the shirts -- the new shirt where he won 'Dog of the Year,'" Cochran said.

Of course, you can't come to the ballpark without eating at least one thing!

"I want the 'Hella Nutella!'" a Brewers fan said.

New this year, "Holey Moley" opened a doughnut stand inside Miller Park. Jane Rios says she couldn't pass it up!

"I gave up all sweets for Lent, so this was like my reward," Rios said.

The "Hella Nutella" is a doughnut stuffed with ice cream, topped with bananas and Nutella (a chocolate/hazelnut spread).

"Random people wanted a picture of the doughnut!" Rios said.

The Holey Moley doughnuts were a big hit at Miller Park on Opening Day!

Unfortunately, the Brewers fell to the Colorado Rockies in their opener, 10-0.
