“Be proud. We sure are!” Players, fans react to Badgers loss on social media, reflect on season

INDIANAPOLIS (WITI) — The Wisconsin Badgers lost in a heartbreaker Monday night, April 6th in Indianapolis, falling to the Duke Blue Devils 68-63 in the NCAA Tournament’s championship game. Despite the loss that for some, including the players, has been hard to take — fans took to social media late Monday to praise the Badgers for a magical season.

The Badgers took down the undefeated Kentucky Wildcats to advance to the championship game in a 71-64 victory. Though they fell to the Blue Devils Monday night, this team advanced to the Final Four for its second consecutive season — a first in school history. The Badgers have not won a national championship since 1941.
