Serious rollover crash in Mequon has infant and adult in critical condition

MEQUON (WITI) -- A serious vehicle crash sends Flight for Life scrambling to the scene and leaves two people with critical injuries.

The accident happened shortly before 4 p.m. on Friday, April 17th.

Roads were blocked off in all directions after the crash on the Mequon-Germantown border.

Officials were still investigating the scene Friday evening, but crunched metal and shattered glass left reminders of what happened hours earlier.

FOX6 News spoke with a neighbor and a 56-year-old Mequon man, who was the driver of the pickup truck and trailer involved in the accident. Both tell us that the driver of a silver vehicle, a 30-year-old Milwaukee man, rear-ended the trailer before rolling over to its resting place.

An adult and an infant were inside the silver vehicle.

The neighbor says she called 911. The driver of the pickup truck helped get the adult and child out of the vehicle. He also had a first aid kit and helped tend to their injuries until first responders arrived.

Flight for Life was called to transport the adult to Froedtert and the infant to Children's Hospital.

The Germantown Fire Department tells FOX6 News both victims had critical injuries.

We do not know the current condition of either the adult or the child injured in this crash.

Law enforcers remained on scene hours after the incident, to reconstruct and investigate what happened.

FOX6 News will continue to monitor this investigation and will update this story when more information is available.
