Bayside village administrator injured during dust up with 81-year-old man during Spring Clean-up event

BAYSIDE (WITI) -- Bayside police say Bayside's village administrator was injured in a dust up with a resident during the annual "Spring Clean-up" event held on Saturday, April 25th.

The Spring Clean-up event allows residents to drop off recyclable items and/or items they'd like to donate.

Police say an 81-year-old resident became disorderly Saturday when he was approached by the village administrator. The resident became argumentative and struck the village administrator with their vehicle when instructed to park in a certain area for safety. The contact occurred when the village administrator attempted to stop the resident from leaving the scene prior to the arrival of the police.

The village administrator was treated and released with a minor leg injury.

The 81-year-old man was cited for disorderly conduct.
