Police: 25-year-old man shot as he was walking toward bus stop to head to work

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that occurred near N. 21st Street and Concordia Avenue Wednesday evening, April 29th.

It happened shortly before 8:30 p.m.

Police say the victim is a 25-year-old man who was shot in his forearm. He is expected to be okay. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The victim was walking down an alley toward a bus stop on his way to work near the intersection of N. 21st Street and Concordia Ave. and was on his cell phone when he was approached by two male suspects from behind.  The suspects told the 25-year-old man to give him the cell phone, but the victim refused.  One of the suspects then fired two shots at the victim, striking him in the forearm.

Two people were taken into custody. Police were working to determine whether they were responsible for the shooting.
