Shots fired after serious crash: One in custody, three injured in crash

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a serious crash that happened around 10:30 p.m. on April 28th near  N. 5th and W. Clarke.

According to police, an 18-year-old Milwaukee man was driving  westbound on W. Clarke Street when he failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with a vehicle traveling northbound on N. 5th Street.  The 18-year-old exited his car and fled on foot after a third vehicle arrived at the scene and shots were fired.

The three occupants of the car, a 21-year-old woman, a 24-year-old woman and a 32-year-old woman, all from Milwaukee, were transported to the hospital for serious injuries suffered in the crash.

The crash suspect was taken into custody a short time later at his home in the 2600 block of N. 4th Street on charges of operating while intoxicated and hit and run.

Police continue to search for the suspect who fired shots.
