Motorcyclist killed on Milwaukee's south side, police say victim not wearing helmet

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police say a 41-year-old man was killed while riding his motorcycle when he crashed into an oncoming vehicle near S. 13th and W. Dakota Street. The man has been identified as Robert Tolbert.

The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night, May 2nd.

Authorities say Tolbert was operating a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling northbound on S. 13th when he struck a 1999 Chysler which was traveling westbound on Dakota.

The driver of the Chrysler was a 34-year-old Milwaukee man who remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Authorities say Tolbert was not wearing a helmet and died on scene from his injuries despite the efforts of the Milwaukee Fire Department.

Police say alcohol was not a factor in this accident.

The circumstances surrounding this accident are currently under investigation.
