"Just deep sadness that it's gone:" Man shocked to learn his 45-foot yacht stolen from boat yard

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A man who named his yacht after his late mother is devastated to learn it has been stolen.

The "Annie Mac" was docked at "Jerry's Dock" -- a boat yard on Water Street. The theft happened on Saturday morning, May 9th -- sometime between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.

Police say the trailer holding the 45-foot yacht was hooked up to a pickup truck, and the pickup truck was then driven away from Jerry's Dock.

David Pakalski is the yacht's owner. He is currently living in Florida.

Pakalski says he used to move the boat from Wisconsin to Florida, but ever since he was diagnosed with leukemia four years ago, he hasn't been able to make the trip.

He says he's in disbelief after learning the boat was stolen.

"I'm not angry. I'm sure I'm going to feel angry at some point, but it's just deep sadness that it's gone and I hope it comes back," Pakalski said.

Police are investigating. If you think you've seen this yacht, you're asked to call police.
