On National Missing Children Day, officials highlight unresolved cases in Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Monday, May 25th was National Missing Children Day, and there are a number of unresolved cases in Wisconsin -- including a "Jane Doe" in Racine.

Jane Doe in Racine Co.

Investigators hope to solve a 14-year-old murder case involving a woman whose name and age remain unknown.

Authorities believe the woman was beaten and tortured, and then dumped in a field in Raymond in 1999.

Her body was exhumed late last year, which gave investigators a better clue as to where she is from.

Meanwhile, it has been 13 years since Alexis Patterson disappeared in Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office held a ceremony for Patterson earlier this month.

Patterson went missing when she was just seven years old.

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke hosted a wreath-laying ceremony for Patterson outside Hi-Mount Boulevard Community School on May 3rd. It is something Clarke will continue to do if she remains missing.

The Sheriff's Office is offering a $10,000 reward for information in this case.
