Investigation underway after body found in 700 block of E. Capitol Drive, foul play not suspected

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Officials are investigating after a body was found Tuesday evening, May 26th in the 700 block of E. Capitol Drive.

Police say due to the state of decomposition, no visible signs or mechanism of trauma could be identified as resulting from foul play.

The body was found in a wooded area immediately east of Estabrook Park. The area surrounding the body was covered with trash and personal items, and appeared to be a campsite of the deceased.

Officials were called out just before 6:30 p.m.

An autopsy is planned for Wednesday.
