Worker strikes high voltage lines, suffers serious burns at Kenosha Steel Castings
Accident at Kenosha Steel Castings
KENOSHA -- A contractor doing some roof work at Kenosha Steel Castings was injured on Thursday morning, May 28th.
Officials say the contractor was on the roof doing reconstruction following a fire at the business a few months back. He was moving metal pieces when he struck a high voltage line. The contractor suffered significant burns.
The worker was initially treated on the roof. The Kenosha Fire Department removed him from the roof with one of their tower ladder trucks. The victim was then flown by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
We Energies was called to the scene but did not have to disconnect the electricity.
According to its website, Kenosha Steel Castings is a full-service steel foundry producing castings up to 8,500 lbs. in weight and flasks up to 10 ft. square.
