Police: Boy nearly abducted able to hit, kick, claw suspect and break free; suspect now sought

MENASHA -- Law enforcement officials are looking for a suspect after a 12-year-old boy was nearly abducted at a park in Menasha on Sunday afternoon, June 7th.

It happened around 2:00 p.m. at Hart Park near 7th Street and Appleton Road in Menasha.

Officials say the boy fell near the sidewalk/terrace area, and he was then grabbed by a man. The man attempted to drag the boy into his vehicle, but the boy was able to hit, kick and claw at the man and he was released.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned man (possibly Hispanic). He had numerous tattoos on his arms and neck, including three tattoos of lips on his neck, and both arms were covered with sleeves (full arm tattoos), with a Pepsi logo.

He may have scratches on his arms.

He was wearing a curbed, brimmed baseball hat. The hat was light blue with a dark blue logo.

A passenger in the suspect's vehicle is described as a white male with blonde, spiked hair and a nose ring.

The suspect vehicle is described as a silver SUV, similar to a Dodge Durango, with Illinois plates. A partial plate of X9 was obtained. There were scratch marks on the rear quarter panel of the vehicle's passenger side.

A "Wisconsin Crime Alert" is being sent out statewide in this case due to the fact that the vehicle had Illinois plates and it could be traveling through the state.

Anyone with information is asked to contact law enforcement officials.
