Fire breaks out in home near 11th & Lapham; fire officials call it "suspicious"

MILWAUKEE -- Fire crews responded to a house fire near 11th and Lapham early Thursday morning, June 11th. The call came in around 3 a.m.

When crews arrived on scene, the house was fully engulfed in fire. At that time, the fire was upgraded to a second alarm -- which brought 60 firefighters to the scene.

Fire officials tell FOX6 News that 10 occupants were displaced as a result of the fire. The Red Cross is assisting. The cause of the fire is unknown.

Residents in the neighborhood are nervous because Thursday's fire was not the first they've seen in recent weeks. There have been multiple suspicious fires set within just blocks.
