Milwaukee Bucks make moves: Ilyasova out, Butler and Williams in

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks reported on Thursday, June 11th the team has acquired forwards Caron Butler and Shawne Williams from the Detroit Pistons in exchange for forward Ersan Ilyasova.

Racine native Caron Butler returns to Milwaukee after spending part of the 2013-14 season with the Bucks. In his first stint with Milwaukee, the two-time NBA All-Star averaged 11.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 24.1 minutes in 34 games (13 starts) before being waived on Feb. 27, 2014. Butler, 35, signed as a free agent with the Oklahoma City Thunder to finish the season before joining the Pistons for 2014-15. Last year in Detroit, Butler posted averages of 5.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 20.8 minutes through 78 games (21 starts). The Connecticut alum is a 13-year NBA veteran who has seen time with the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers in addition to the Bucks, Thunder and Pistons. He owns career averages of 14.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

Williams, 29, has six years of experience in the NBA, having spent time with Indiana, Dallas, New York, New Jersey, the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami and Detroit. Over his career, he has played in 314 games (58 starts) and averaged 5.6 points and 3.0 rebounds. The 6-foot-9-inch product out of Memphis split the 2014-15 season with Miami (44 games, 22 starts) and Detroit (19 games), posting season averages of 5.4 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. Williams was selected 17th overall by the Pacers in the 2006 NBA Draft.
