MILWAUKEE — Prairie Farms has donated 500 gallons of milk to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

The company makes the donation every year as part of the Great American Milk Drive.

The main goal of the milk drive is to help families in need in the area, and provide their children with healthy and nutritious food.

Since milk is one of the most nutrient-dense proteins, it seemed like a good place to start.

“Kids are getting out of school for the summer and they’re at home and they’re consuming a lot more food. So we have an effort to get much more healthy, nutritious food, especially during the summer months, out to our 550 partner agencies,” Charles McLimans, president and CEO of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

The milk was distributed on Wednesday, June 17th, and within 24 hours, kids all over southeastern Wisconsin will be enjoying it.
