Fatal crash: Motorcyclist killed after colliding with semi on Highway 20 at I-94 NB on-ramp

MOUNT PLEASANT — A motorcyclist was killed Thursday morning, June 25th after colliding with a semi tractor trailer on Highway 20 at the I-94 on-ramp. The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Maximiliano Ferreira.

Mount Pleasant officers along with South Shore Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the scene around 7:30 a.m.

Officials say Ferreira was traveling westbound on Highway 20, approaching the traffic signal intersection with I-94 at the northbound on-ramp, when his motorcycle collided into the right side of a semi. Authorities say the semi was attempting a left turn from eastbound Highway 20 onto the northbound I-94 on-ramp.

South Shore Fire and Rescue assessed the injury, and called for Flight for Life. Flight for life landed but did not transport, as the Ferreira died from his injuries.

Ferreira was wearing a helmet.

    How is it possible that the biker was killed even though he was wearing a helmet? This must break the hearts of those clowns in the media! I’m surprised they even reported it. Why don’t they make more of ANOTHER ROW violation? That’s a huge cause of fatalities!
