Police: 22-year-old Elkhorn man arrested in connection with shooting

ELKHORN -- A 22-year-old Elkhorn man has been arrested for second-degree reckless injury in connection with a shooting.

Officers from the Elkhorn Police Department and deputies from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, were dispatched a residence on W. Hidden Trail around 1:14 p.m. Thursday, June 25th for the report of a subject that had been shot in the leg.

When officials arrived on scene, they discovered a 19-year-old Elkhorn man with a gunshot wound to his upper right leg.

Officers were informed that a person called in and identified himself as the shooter.

The caller, a 22-year-old Elkhorn man, was subsequently arrested for second-degree reckless injury.

The investigation is on-going and the Elkhorn Police Department is being assisted by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol.
