Captured: Charged with reckless homicide, U.S. Marshals on the hunt for Stephanie Chapman

OCONOMOWOC -- U.S. Marshals are looking for 26-year-old Stephanie Chapman.

Chapman is charged with first degree reckless homicide, felony bail jumping and manufacturing/delivery of controlled substances.

U.S. Marshals says Chapman is charged with selling oxycodone to a 24-year-old Oconomowoc woman last year, which led to a fatal overdose.

This isn't the first time U.S. Marshals have had to search for Chapman.  In March, they tracked her to a home in the village of Wales.  They say they found Chapman hiding in a crawl space near a basement furnace.

After her arrest by U.S. Marshals, Chapman was released on bail.  In May, she arrived for an appearance at the Waukesha County Courthouse and learned she was going back into custody for the homicide charge.  U.S. Marshals say Chapman distracted officials and walked away from an unsecure area of the courthouse. She hasn't been seen by law enforcement since.

Jody Wintheiser is the mother of the 24-year-old woman who died from the drug overdose.  She says Chapman was her daughter's friend.

"I don't want to see any more carnage.  If she's loose, and if she's in the same condition my daughter was in when she died, her safety could be at risk, too," said Wintheiser.

Chapman is 5'10'' and weighs 150 pounds.  She has had piercings on her face and is known to change her hair color.  U.S. Marshals say she has ties to Wales and Sullivan, also Jefferson, Dodge and Waukesha Counties.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should call U.S. Marshals at 414-297-2707.
