Police: Series of auto thefts occurring after minor traffic crashes on city's south side

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a recent series of auto thefts that have taken place after minor traffic crashes on Milwaukee’s south side.

According to police, the cars are taken after the suspects tap into the rear of the victim’s car and the victim gets out to investigate.  A suspect in the striking vehicle then takes the victim’s car while the striking auto flees.

Milwaukee police recently arrested a suspect in one case, however others have happened since.

There have been about a half dozen cases in the past week.
