"It's great!" State Fair, Kohl's officials team up to bring the fair to kids at Children's Hospital

MILWAUKEE -- Wisconsin State Fair and Kohl's officials came together to bring the sights and sounds of the Wisconsin State Fair to Children's Hospital.

Fair staff, vendors and entertainers brought the State Fair experience to patients and their families at the hospital who were unable to attend the fair.

'Sights and Sounds of the Fair' gave children a chance to play games, eat Cream Puffs and even take part in a parade.



"I think it's great that the patients are able to experience something a little less serious than they've been experiencing at the hospital and just to kinda lighten up the mood for the day," Terri Hust, the mother of a patient at Children's Hospital said.

Tuesday, August 11th was the fifth annual 'Sights and Sounds of the Fair' event to take place at Children's Hospital.

In addition to the 'Sights and Sounds of the Fair' initiative, more than 350 Kohl's employees teamed up with Children's Hospital of Wisconsin officials to create more than 15,000 first aid kits.

The free kits have first aid supplies and information on preventing injuries.

"This serves as an opportunity for parents to be aware of what educational resources are available for them as their children grow and develop to keep their kids safe and healthy," Bridget Clemente with Children's Hospital of Wisconsin said.

The kits will be distributed to families through Children's Hospital's 21 primary care clinics and at several of the hospital's community events.
