Woman arrested after allegedly displaying handgun during road rage dispute near 124th & Capitol

WAUWATOSA -- Wauwatosa police say a woman was arrested after allegedly displaying a firearm during a road rage incident that began near 124th Street and Capitol Drive in Wauwatosa.

Police were first notified about this incident shortly before 7:00 p.m.

Police say there was a dispute regarding how the woman was driving through a parking lot in the area. Someone confronted the woman, and the woman allegedly displayed a handgun -- pointing it at the other person.

The woman's vehicle was located by police near 102nd and Capitol Drive, and a high-risk traffic stop ensued.

The woman was taken into custody, and no injuries were reported.

A handgun was recovered by police. We're told the handgun had a magazine with rounds in it.

Police say the woman's son (age 18 or 19) was in the vehicle at the time of his mother's arrest. However, he was not in the vehicle when the dispute occurred. He was released from the scene.

We're told charges will be forwarded to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in connection with this incident if it is deemed necessary.
