Power being restored to thousands after thunderstorm rips through SE Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE -- More than 20,000 We Energies customers lost power due to Friday evening's storm that ripped through southeast Wisconsin. But as of Saturday morning, that number was under 4,500.

FOX6 News spoke with Brian Manthey from We Energies. He said on Friday evening that two of the larger areas without power were in Milwaukee and Wauwatosa.

Manthey said reports of power outages started around 7 p.m. Friday evening. The crews saw a lot of wind damage and trees on power lines that are causing the power to be knocked out. Manthey said the outages are pretty spread out.
