MILWAUKEE -- When tomatoes have black leathery areas on the bottom it's called blossom end rot. It's not due to an insect or disease and will usually only occur on the first couple of tomatoes of the season.



It is almost impossible to grow tomatoes in the home garden without having some of the two common leaf spot diseases. Learn what they look like and what to do about them.



The main strawberry season is in June but ever-bearing varieties are just getting started. Find out what special treatment is needed for these later-bearing plants to produce a decent crop.
