WASHINGTON COUNTY — Wisconsin State Patrol officials have now identified a 67-year-old man killed in a crash on I-41 in Washington County on Monday, August 24th.

The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. on I-41 at Pioneer Road in Washington County — near Richfield.

Wisconsin State Patrol officials say a commercial truck driven by a 42-year-old man was southbound on I-41 approaching Pioneer Road.

Traffic ahead was slowing for a construction project on 41/45.

The truck struck one vehicle from behind, pushing it towards the median. A second vehicle was also struck before the truck came to a stop on the right shoulder.

The driver of the first vehicle was unresponsive when officers arrived.

Officers and witnesses performed CPR, but the 67-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the hospital. He had been identified as Robert Krzewinski.

The truck driver and the 50-year-old driver of the other vehicle were treated and released.

I-41 southbound was closed to traffic for approximately two hours following this crash.
