Germantown releases photos believed to be involved in deadly hit-and-run, asks for public’s help

GERMANTOWN — Germantown police have released pictures of the vehicle that they feel confident struck and killed 50-year-old Keith Habenicht on Sunday night, August 23rd. They are now asking for the public’s help to share any information related to this incident.

According to police, 50-year-old Keith Habenicht was operating his bicycle southbound on Appleton Avenue, south of Mequon Road, when he was struck from behind around 8:15 p.m. Sunday night. The vehicle fled and Habenicht was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say they have only released pictures of the non-damaged areas of the vehicle at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation.
