Adding to the Lambeau experience: Packers say historic stadium now has enhanced Wi-Fi

GREEN BAY -- The Green Bay Packers announced on Thursday, August 27th that the team has partnered with Extreme Networks to provide enhanced Wi-Fi service in Lambeau Field on gamedays and every day.

Extreme’s high-density wireless infrastructure is designed to accommodate a high number of users and the increased demand to access mobile sites and apps, including the official Green Bay Packers mobile app, NFL mobile app and fantasy sports apps.

The system consists of approximately 1,000 wireless access points, with 300 miles of copper cabling and 50 miles of fiber optic cabling. Along with current cellular service upgrades, the Wi-Fi enhancements will provide fans with greater capacity and coverage.

Verizon Wireless, the Packers’ official wireless partner, supported the effort as well.

Additionally, the Packers, Verizon and Extreme Networks have partnered with Green Bay Public Schools to provide a “Wi-Fi Coach” program, giving high school students the opportunity to provide fans with a resource if they need assistance connecting or have any general wireless questions. Teams of Wi-Fi coaches will be available to help on gameday in the stadium concourses and outside of suites.
