Mortgage holder offers $6.5 million for Downer Avenue retail buildings in foreclosure auction

MILWAUKEE -- The mortgage holder for some retail properties along North Downer Avenue in Milwaukee placed the one and only bid in a foreclosure auction Monday, August 31st.

They offered $6.5 million.

The property includes the Downer Theatre, and spaces leased to Boswell Books, Starbucks and the Pizza Man restaurant.

Tenants like Pizza Man have leases for their space, and won't be directly affected by the sale.
