Tour of Great Lakes: 400-passenger cruise ship docks in Port of Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- The Port of Milwaukee welcomed the Hamburg on Monday, morning, September 14th  -- a 400 passenger cruise ship that is touring the Great Lakes.

The ship traveled under the Hoan Bridge between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. and docked in the inner harbor (along the west side of Jones Island) at approximately 7:00 a.m.

Ships carrying cargo make hundreds of stops at the port each year, but the docking of such a large cruise ship is an unusual event at the Port of Milwaukee.

The passengers on board the Hamburg are mostly European.  They will have an opportunity to visit Wisconsin destinations such as the Harley-Davidson Museum and Spring Green’s Taliesin while the ship is in port.  Passengers also have access to shuttles back and forth to downtown Milwaukee

During its current North American cruise, the Hamburg is making stops at other Great Lakes ports.
