Shooting near 23rd & National Ave. in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police say a 32-year-old man was shot several times near 23rd and National on the city’s south side on Monday evening, September 14th.

Officers from the Neighborhood Task Force were in the neighborhood around 7:30 p.m. and saw two men fleeing from the sound of shots — one armed with a handgun.

The officers pursued them and caught the armed suspect after a short foot pursuit. The other subject is not in custody.

The victim sustained numerous gunshot wounds but is expected to survive.

The motive for the shooting is unknown.
