Radishes & beets will still have time to germinate and grow before the season ends

MILWAUKEE -- There is still time to plant a couple of crops – radishes and beets will still have time to germinate and grow before the season ends.

Brussels sprouts are developing and actually improve with the coming cold weather. To help the final, immature buds form more quickly, it’s time to cut off the top of the plant. We will discuss how to do this and why it works.

We will harvest some of the leeks that have been being blanched with boards and soil. We will see what that technique does and discuss why.

You can head to the Milwaukee County UW-Extension Horticulture page for more gardening information.
