Riverside Theater to get new marquee, 40-foot tall vertical sign

MILWAUKEE -- Changes are coming to Milwaukee's Riverside Theater. The theater is adding a new marquee and a 40-foot tall vertical sign along W. Wisconsin Avenue.

The signage will be just the latest of several renovation projects being done at the historic theater.

“The Riverside Theater has a storied history and a bright future,” Mayor Tom Barrett said. “The new marquee and large vertical sign, harking back to what West Wisconsin once looked like, bring the energy and activity that’s been happening inside the theater for the past decade out to the streets of downtown Milwaukee.”

October 2015 will mark the 10th Anniversary of Pabst Theater Group’s management of the Riverside Theater. During their decade of operation, this 87-year-old theater has thrived, hosting over 600 shows and more than 1 million customers.

Opening in 1928, the Riverside Theater is known for bringing a wide-range of popular entertainment to Milwaukee throughout its history.
