Plein Air Shorewood brings 43 juried, professional artists and 3,000 visitors to the Village of Shorewood

SHOREWOOD -- The third annual Plein Air Shorewood 2015 will take place over three days and brings 43 juried, professional artists and 3,000 visitors to the Village of Shorewood. Each artist in the show is an experienced outdoor painter who submitted an application and was juried by the Public Art Committee and panel of judges in July, and accepted based on talent and experience painting in this type of show.

There are 40 such artists competing for over $6,000 in cash prize money this year, who are also eager to sell their work on Saturday 9/19.   This year, there is an emerging track for artists who are professional painters who would like to break in to the Plein Air field – there are three of them competing for a $250 cash prize. Shorewood is hosting its first Plein Air Boot Camp short class from 10-12 Wednesday morning 9/16 for all artists to brush up on features unique to plein air painting such as timing completion, tips for dealing with the public, choosing a spot, and sales.
