Family heartbroken over loss of man left for dead outside police station; "He didn't deserve this"



MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee man was left for dead at a police station and now, the victim's family is speaking out and looking for answers.

51-year-old Alvin Brown was dropped off at the Milwaukee Police District 5 early Thursday morning, September 17th. Not long after, family found out he was shot and killed.

Friday, September 18th the victim's daughter and niece are asking for anyone who might know why, to come forward.

"I still feel like I'm not in reality. I'm feeling like I'm just not here right now," said Shanika Brown, victim's daughter.

A family's worst nightmare became a reality on Thursday morning, September 17th.

"It was like a total shock. I never thought this day would come so soon," said Shanika.

Shanika Brown woke up to the news her father, 51-year-old Alvin Brown, was killed. Police say he was shot in a car near 12th and Locust and a driver brought him to the police station.

"It's disturbing, very disturbing," said Shanika.

Police tried life saving measures, but Brown died.

No suspects are in custody.

"It's a high drug area over there, so it could possibly be something drug related -- we don't know," said Shanika.

Family says Alvin Brown had struggles, but was trying to get his life back on track.

"We were having plans for him to move back home with me," said Brown.

"I haven't heard from my uncle in over twenty years. So, the first I hear of my uncle is he's shot and he's murdered in Milwaukee," said Tameka Brown, victim's niece.

Brown's death has brought his family together.

"You always wonder how he's doing, what he's doing, is he okay? But I never though that he would be murdered," said Tameka.

They are unable to understand why their loved one was killed, but hopeful someone will come forward.

"I just basically want some answers. What happened? Why did it happen? Because he didn't deserve this," said Shanika.

Family has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for Brown's funeral expenses.

A vigil is being held at Milwaukee Police District 5, located at 2920 N 4th Street on Monday, September 21st.
