GLENDALE — The Milwaukee Business Journal reports Johnson Controls Inc. will cut 2.5 percent of its total workforce in the next two years, including some Milwaukee-area employees.

The Glendale-based global manufacturer said it plans to layoff 3,000 salaried, non-production workers across its entire footprint, with the goal of saving $250 million per year. This is in line with an announcement from Johnson Controls’ (NYSE: JCI) third quarter earnings report, when the company said it was starting a comprehensive cost saving program.
