MOUNT PLEASANT — Mount Pleasant Police Investigators are looking to identify a suspect involved in a home invasion robbery that occurred on Saturday, September 12th.

Authorities say the occupants of a home in the 6200 block of Larchmont Drive, reported items were taken around 3:40 a.m. while they were asleep. The suspect first entered the home and then went inside a pickup truck, parked in the garage, and stole several more items — including a handgun and a wallet.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department were called out to investigate when around 4 a.m., an officer noticed a door open in the 6300 block of Larchmont Drive.

The officer made contact with the residents of the home and they checked both of their vehicles that were parked in the garage. They discovered the vehicle had been entered and rummaged through.

Extra attention will be given to this area throughout the Village of Mount Pleasant due to these incidents.

Meantime, police are searching for the suspect responsible for the invasions and thefts.

If you have any information on who this person is, you are asked to call Mount Pleasant Police Investigator Mark Haleen at 262-664-7920.

Authorities are also suggesting citizens remove or conceal any valuable items in their vehicles, lock their car doors, and close their garage doors. Exterior lighting can also minimize the chance of you becoming a victim — most criminals don’t want to be seen or heard.

Both of these incidents remain under investigation.
