Racine police investigate fatal shooting near 16th & Taylor Avenue

RACINE — Racine police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday night, September 20th.

According to police, officers responded to the area of 16th and Taylor Avenue around 8:45 p.m. for a report of an unresponsive person in an apartment.

Upon arrival, officers located a 34-year-old man suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. The victim has been identified as Vaughan Chattman.

Major Crimes Investigators and evidence technicians were activated. The Racine Police Department is investigating this case as a homicide.

Racine police investigators are interested in any person that might have additional information that would help in the investigation of this Incident. Any witnesses, or citizens with information, are urged to call the Racine Police Department Investigations Unit at 262-635-7756.
