"Really scary situation:" Three sexual assaults near Carroll University campus; can you help police?

WAUKESHA -- Waukesha police are calling on the public to help identify a sexual assault suspect.

Investigators say three female victims have reported incidents that involved a male coming from behind them and grabbing them inappropriately while they were walking near the Carroll University campus. The suspect then took off running in all three incidents. The incidents all occurred on Friday, September 18th between 2:35 p.m. and 4:10 p.m.

"It`s a really scary situation. It has a lot of us really traumatized about it," Adriana Santoro, Carroll University freshman said.

The suspect is believed to be the same person in all three incidents.  He is described as a white male, between 14-20 years of age, standing 5’4”-5’5” tall with a slender build, with short blonde hair.  He is described as wearing a Navy Blue sweatshirt with orange lettering.

"Could he go to our school? Because those are our school colors," Ashley Nunez, Carroll University freshman said.

Theresa Barry, Carroll University VP for student affairs says the suspect was captured via university surveillance camera off of Grand Avenue.

"We have cameras on campus, so we were able to capture him on photo and identify that that was him," Barry said.

Barry says it isn't clear yet whether the suspect is a Carroll University student.

Meanwhile, the Waukesha Police Department has increased patrols around Carroll University. Also, Carroll University’s Department of Public Safety has increased its presence near the scene of these incidents.

"I feel like it`s a really safe place," Alex Hackbarth, Carroll University junior said.

Carroll University officials say they offer a free, 24/7 shuttle service to all students and they are encouraging students to take advantage of that service.  Carroll University has also notified its students and campus community to use caution and provided them with tips on staying safe when walking alone.
