Governor Scott Walker to make first public appearance since dropping out of presidential race Friday

MADISON — Governor Scott Walker plans to make his first public appearance since dropping out of the presidential race on Friday, September 25th.

Walker's spokeswoman Jocelyn Webster said Wednesday that Walker will appear Friday in Beaver Dam to celebrate the anniversary of a local business. Webster says Walker will be "out and about" in his role as governor in the coming weeks.

Webster reiterated that Walker is committed to serving out the remainder of his term, which runs through 2018.

Walker abruptly dropped out of the presidential race on Monday and was meeting privately with staff and lawmakers on Tuesday and Wednesday, with more meetings planned Thursday. Walker was also to be on a call with donors to his presidential campaign on Wednesday.
