MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee family is grieving the loss of a man they call a beloved grandfather. He was stabbed to death on Tuesday night, and two people are now in custody.

Relatives say Juan Jose Teutor died in his home -- an apartment inside a building near 22nd and Wisconsin -- near the Marquette University campus.

Family members say the two people currently in custody are related to the victim.

Olga Gonzalez says 52-year-old Juan Jose Teutor, known to many as Cuba, couldn't have meant more to her.

"Cuba was my grandfather. Also, he was like my dad. He raised me and my grandmother raised me," Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez says "Cuba," Teutor's nickname based on his native country, lived most of his life in the United States, living with his long-time girlfriend. Relatives say she was home on Tuesday night when Teutor was stabbed to death.

"It`s my grandmother`s birthday and it happened right there, right in front of her face. It just shows there was no sympathy or thought," Teutor said.

Police say the two people now in custody are a 40-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man.

Gonzalez says the woman is the ex-wife of a family member.

Police were called out to the apartment around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday -- and they say Teutor died at the scene.

A neighbor tells FOX6 News Cuba didn't speak much English, but he was always friendly.

"I live here and he was a nice guy. He was a really nice guy -- say hello to you every day or whatever when he sees you. I was about to have dinner and I couldn`t even eat because I felt some type of way," Torrance Sumlin said.

Gonzalez says the family must  now take care of Cuba's long-time girlfriend -- a woman she says is dealing with health problems, and now, a broken heart.

"I don`t know how she`s gonna be doing because that was her life. For them to take him away from her is like killing her also," Gonzalez said.

Relatives say they're not sure of a possible motive in this case, but they believe the victim has provided money for the suspects in the past.

Police say more details about the relationship between the suspects and victim and a possible motive will be known in the coming days.

Meanwhile, a account has been established to raise money for the victim's cremation/funeral services.
